Sky Muster Plus has been a game-changer for rural Australia and it’s just changed for the better!
What changed? Here’s Aaron to explain:
See what’s available at your property
Starting 1st July 2022, only video streaming and VPN use between 4pm and midnight is metered and deducted from your peak data allowance. Everything else is unmetered.
Unmetered off-peak hours have been extended to sixteen hours a day between midnight and 4pm. Previously, the off-peak window was limited to six hours a day between 1am-7am. That’s a 167% increase in off-peak hours where you can do whatever you want online without running out of data, even stream video or use your VPN.
With all usage during off-peak hours becoming unmetered, off-peak data allowances has become redundant and disappeared.
To improve the customer experience on the Sky Muster Plus service, nbn® reserves the right to shape certain types of traffic at any time of day to help manage the network.
Skymesh emailed customers on 01/07/22 confirming that these changes have now come into effect.
nbn® estimates that on average 80% of data used on Sky Muster Plus will now be unmetered.
What do I need to do to access the changes?
In short, nothing.
The changes were automatically applied to all Sky Muster Plus service at no extra cost on 01/07/22.
You do not need to contact Skymesh to request these changes.
Being able to access more data at no extra cost is a great step forward. The evolution of the service is something Skymesh fully supports. We look forward to continuing our work with nbn® to help reduce the digital divide between metro and regional Australia.
