Today, we wanted to share a FREE email management tool which makes managing email subscriptions and spam a breeze. The tool is called Unroll.Me and it’s trusted by millions of email users to de-clutter busy inboxes every day. I personally came across Unroll.Me about 3 years ago and for a FREE piece of kit, I think it’s pretty cool.

Unsubscribe, rollup or keep your emails
It’s not uncommon to have hundreds, even thousands of unread emails sitting in multiple inboxes. I get bombarded on a daily basis, as I’m sure you do, increasing the likelihood of missing emails from friends, family and that all-important lotto win. Not good!
Unroll.Me addresses all of this, turns down the noise and provides a super simple way to unsubscribe, rollup and keep important emails visible.
Unsubscribe – say goodbye to manual one-off unsubscribes, opening individual emails and hunting for the unsubscribe link. Instead, get presented with a full list of your subscriptions and unsubscribe in bulk.
Rollup – combine any emails you no longer want to receive individually into a palatable daily digest which is delivered at a time which suits you. There’s no limit to how many emails you rollup and it’s kind of a halfway house between unsubscribing and keeping the email separate. I use this for newsletters and social media notifications. I still want to receive this stuff, just not in a format which will choke my inbox. Not sent your daily rollup? That’s because you weren’t sent any emails from your rolled up subscriber.
Keep – to view important emails separately and to ensure they are delivered without delay, simply refrain from adding a particular subscription to your daily rollup. For example, I keep anything to do with flights or bookings outside of the rollup, anything that’s important basically. In case you’re wondering, emails from friends and family are not email subscriptions so there is zero risk of accidentally unsubscribing or rolling up important contacts.
Is there an App?
I manage my own rollup via my laptop, logging in only every few months once my mailbox starts to resemble a skip. Unroll.me does, however, offer both iOS and Android apps so you can manage your account on the go. Good also for households which don’t own a desktop device which is becoming increasingly more common.
Which email clients does it support?
Currently, it’s Outlook.com (including Hotmail, MSN & Windows Live), Gmail, Google Apps, Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail and iCloud. So that’s most of them!
OK, where’s the catch and how can it be FREE?
A sensible question to ask. In short, big companies pay Unroll.Me for anonymised market research intelligence. If that unsettles you, maybe Unroll.me isn’t for you. If it doesn’t, congratulations, you now have access to one of the worlds best spam management tools.
Here’s Unroll.Me for a further explanation on how they fund the tool:
“We don’t charge you for Unroll.Me because Slice Technologies, which owns Unroll.Me, measures e‑commerce through a technology that automatically recognizes commercial emails and extracts purchase information from them.
Slice strips away personal information– your name, email, address, anything that could identify you – to build anonymized market research products that analyze and track consumer trends. We respect your privacy and don’t share your receipts, emails or any of your personal information with our clients as part of our business model.”
